Great performances from both teams yesterday!
| Steve | 29 September 2008 19:26:04 |
Well played the under 14's yesterday, if we play like that this season we'll be fine. Mr Berry you were awesome but each and every one of you putting in an outstanding performance. To hear the Elmwood Colts (last years County Cup Finalists) Manager say "You have a great Team there" at the end of the game, was testiment to your magnificent efforts. On the train to work this morning though, I still could not believe how we did not go in at half time at least 3-0 up! Still, that's footie and we can take a lot out of the game. Well done to each and every one of you. You did yourselves proud.
| Clare & Roger | 29 September 2008 16:23:57 |
Well done to Thames Gateway U13. You all played brilliantly. Good start to the season. should be plenty more where that came from. Good luck in the following games, Roger and Clare Gull.

Well done to both teams for their excellent performances yesterday. Great to get off to winning starts.
| Paul | 07 September 2008 14:17:16 |
Well done U14's for a great win today. Although it was only a friendly, you played a very good team and made them look ordinary. Your passing, talking and desire to win was excellent. One or two midfielders need to work on their fitness, apart from that, it was an excellent display. What a goal by Samson ~ remember you can't cut your flowing locks until we lose and if we keep playing like we did today you might soon end up being called Rapunzel!!!
| Skysports News | 04 September 2008 18:10:44 |

| David Fox | 07 July 2008 21:34:13 |
What a fantastic day Saturday turned out to be. Big thanks to Pete Mole for helping bring the whole thing together (and for the oven repair advice - working nicely again now mate!). Steve as ever did a great job on organising the footie, we made a few quid for the club and saw the season out in style.
| Peter and Sue Mole | 07 July 2008 20:42:43 |
Thanks to everyone for making Saturday's World cup day such a great laugh. Thanks also to Mark, Lyn and staff for looking after us until the early hours........ again!Sue has still not recovered from the longest rounders innings in history!......How did the bloody Germans win without scoring a goal?
| conor dave lisa and paige | 07 July 2008 19:48:34 |
GREAT FINALE TO END A GREAT SEASON FOR BOTH KIDS AND PARENTS. BY THE WAY IVE CRACKED A RIB WITH MY OVERHEAD BRUCE LEE KICK.
| West Ham, Chelsea, Arsenal & England Scout | 07 July 2008 17:33:14 |
I was watching from behind the club house and saw some great skills! I will be contacting some of you over the coming weeks. During one of the matches I noticed a big fat elephant trying to do an overhead somersaulting kick and land on his side (DID NOT SCORE). I will not be signing a fat elephant at West Ham, now he has a broken Rib!!!!!!!
| Colin | 07 July 2008 13:59:29 |
What a great day sat thanks all we had a lot of fun.
| Mary | 06 July 2008 22:23:05 |
What a brilliant day!!! World Cup '08 was a great success thanks to the excellent organisation of the committee, and the behaviour and attitude of all the boys. Lakeside is the perfect location - where else could you spend a whole day (and night!) in exclusive extensive grounds, where the children can play safely and have the excellent facilities provided by Mark and Linda?? Worth every penny!!! As for the rounders game...... I am in agony, but would do it all again. In fact, how about relay races, sack races, three legged races etc for next year?? I'm planning already! (PS: Here's a question: What has the Bouncy Castle Company we used and Julia Hards got in common?)
| Ashley Bodimeade | 25 June 2008 23:37:47 |
looking forward to the world cup!!!!
| Colin Van Dyke | 25 June 2008 22:09:06 |
Sorry for late post. | |

Chapmans Drogba is an excellent player & he doesn't dive so much now you are just jealous that West Ham are not on the same level as Chelsea
| Nicola, Terry and Robert | 19 June 2008 21:59:39 |

| Steve Julia and George | 27 May 2008 12:39:10 |
What a great tour! On the pitch we competed against 2 County Champions, saved our best game til last and the boys did their Club proud. Well done lads - you were magnificent! Off the pitch we all had some great laughs; from Satnav Grant Seaman using the force to get to Hemsby, from "gyno" to "the gimp", TIMMEHHY!!!, Me convincing Debbie that the under 15's were very tall under 12's and Debbie saying she would ensure Dave checked their cards, Mr Bodimeade's banter, Everyone getting burned on Saturday and soaked on Sunday, Deano getting absolutely plastered then mistaking his hand for bread and putting it in the toaster at 2 am, Lee "I didn't start nothing...it was him", Kelly Ann's wellies and hats - the latter worn by Jason and Lee (we have the photos),Terry the Russian linesman, Sandra carrying three times her weight in kit and equipment, Sue bringing over the foreign Manager for me to meet "Transportah" and "Playerz like" indeed, Mark walking on stage to shake hands with Paul Walsh in the middle of the presentation and yesterday bringing his chalet key home "I didn't know what to do with it?!!!", our chant of "Is that all you take away?!!" to other teams while the banter was friendly in the Presentation Hall. I could go on and will do in the Newsletter.
| David Fox | 27 May 2008 11:42:52 |
What a fantastic weekend we all had in Hemsby! The boys were all superb, they competed well in the matches against some good teams and they behaved brilliantly for the whole weekend.
| Paul | 27 May 2008 10:51:23 |
Well done to everyone on Tour at Hemsby, this weekend. The Wells' all thoroughly enjoyed themselves, largely due to the excellent company we kept all weekend. A special thanks to Dave for arranging the tour, especially in light of the fact that you had to change venues, how stressful was that for you? Let's hope we tour again next year, Europe we hear? Finally, we are now looking forward to the end of season Presentation on 14th June and Fun Day on July 5th ~ see you all again soon!
| Pete and Sue | 26 May 2008 18:58:54 |

The NHS were today forced to make a statement following concerns about Mr Bodimeade's hip injury sustained at Dad's footie last night. The statement reads "We the NHS are seriously concerned at Mr Bodimeade's decision to continue to play football after his hip injury last night. Mr Bodimeade has been advised that if he continues to play he is at serious risk. This is because we cannot find a replacement hip big enough to cover his seriously overly ample, lardy rear end" Mr Bodimeade was unvailable for comment after last being seen in Steve Hill's back pocket from 8pm to 9.30pm on Thursday evening.

Thanks as well to Steve and family for turning out to support the boy's,I hope our second goal celebration is not on the dvd mate! A day we will never forget for a long long time! Rounded off by Kev's topless dancing! Priceless.

Happy Birthday Moley!!!!
| Peter and Sue Mole | 28 April 2008 17:22:09 |
Unlucky yesterday under13's ! These things happen in football and the mark of a good team is the way they bounce back. Im sure you'll win your last two games and get the promotion you deserve.Well done under12's, you all played really well again yesterday and deserve to be in another final, the main thing now is to enjoy the day's win or lose, you have done brilliantly to get there!

u12s - great performance and we now have another Cup Final to look forward to!
| Steve | 27 April 2008 21:16:11 |
Under 13's - great performance today lads. I want to say that it has been a pleasure coaching you this season, I am sure Paul will agree, and watching you develop as individuals and collectively as a Team over the years has been fantastic. At the start of the season we never dreamed we would be challenging for the promotion, let alone battling for the title especially after Ashley and Nick moved on, However we have replaced them with quality players in Robert and Sean and we are now a team to be taken seriously. Look at your fantastic record - 13 wins 2 draws and only 3 defeats and two more games to go - let's try to win those, secure runners up and then try and bring a trophy back from tour.
| Steve and George | 27 April 2008 21:07:20 |
Congratulations to the under 12's for their great result today and getting into your second final this season - quality lads - well done!
| Paul Keiller | 27 April 2008 19:26:05 |
Well done again to the boys for making it through to another final, excellent game.
| Robert Cole | 27 April 2008 15:55:12 |
This season, i have made some mistakes, like the penalty miss, and who was the first person to mention it? Conner! Now look who's made the mistake, red card!!! haha! Well played lads, nearly promoted!
| David Fox | 26 April 2008 16:51:26 |
Good luck to both teams against Essex Royals tomorrow.

| David Joynes | 10 April 2008 21:54:10 |
Thank you all at Thames for the card and letter, i am missing the Thursday night football badly, but in the end i had to listen to the advice from the experts. I will check the diary, and let Dave know about the final. I am sure the boys will give it 110 %, and whatever the outcome, enjoy the day, be proud that you were in the final, and the fact you have had another fantastic season.
| David Fox | 05 April 2008 12:11:33 |
Good luck to the u13s this weekend. Great result last week and it would be brilliant to get another win this week.
| Sky Sports Breaking News - | 03 April 2008 18:17:04 |
Steve Hill is reported to be making his long awaited comeback at Dad's Footie this evening. A source close to the Hill camp told us "the big fella has been on an intense training regime and will probably give Mileage a run for his money tonight. He has eaten more pasta than a coach load of Italians and is primed and ready to strike!".
| Vidal Sassoon | 01 April 2008 20:43:42 |

U12s - unlucky on Sunday, we were experimenting and we didnt turn up for the first half. Second half was much better, especially as we played for 10 mins with only 10 men due to Kews' injury. Heads up!!
| Steve | 31 March 2008 20:57:50 |
Well played all the 13's this week, great performance against a very good side. Quality result. Keep it up lads!
| Paul | 30 March 2008 20:00:49 |
Well done U13's, back to winning ways! I was really pleased with the effort and some of the football you played today V's Devil Warriors. 4 games to go ~ the league title is still in our hands!!! Let's go for 3 more points next week v Brandon Groves.

| Belhus Park Police | 17 March 2008 20:14:49 |
We would like to point out that whoever told Colin Bodimeade that John O'Shea nicked his wallet yesterday was well out of order. Mr Bodimeade chased Mr O'Shea around Belhus for the full one mile course before being advised of the cruel prank.

u13s - unlucky! I saw your goal and hoped it would lead to a win but with the wind and the rain it was a difficult day for football. Keep working hard in training and stick together. This is when you need a strong team spirit, and you have that!
| Tracy O'Shea | 17 March 2008 09:51:27 |
Well done to John (Mileage) O'Shea, Kieran (Mini Mileage) O'Shea, Colin (The Bodi) Bodimead who ran the Sport Relief mille at Belhus on Sunday Morning.

How good is Scholsey (Sean B) his website post was at 11.37 am this morning, while he was playing in our training match at the end of our training session this morning! Talk about multi tasking!!
| David Fox | 14 March 2008 20:58:03 |
Good luck to both teams on Sunday. We could both do with a win after our last match so let's see if we can get another win double. Most important - ENJOY the game everybody!!

| The Moles | 10 March 2008 16:02:42 |
U12's...........It was going to happen one day! You can all be proud of yourselves the way you took the defeat, any team in the world would be proud of not losing a game for over a year! You are still very capable of winning the league, are in a cup final and in contention for the pennant cup! At the beginning of the season I don't think anybody honestly thought that would be the case.So keep you heads up, be proud of what you have achieved and look forward!
| Billy | 10 March 2008 13:59:21 |
Unlucky on Sunday boys. Even though it wasn't the best of performances in the first half you battled away in the second half but it didn't quite happen. Keep your heads up. You can still do the double. COME ON YOU THAMES!
| David Fox | 10 March 2008 13:09:06 |
u12s - Keep your heads up and let's get back to the hard work at training. The second half performance was good and on another day may well have brought reward. The good news is we have a game on Sunday to put things right.
| chay | 10 March 2008 10:53:55 |

Under 12's - if at the start of the season we had been offered our first defeat in the Prem would come in March 2008, we'd have taken that. Your unbeaten run has been fantastic and a credit to each any every one of you! Keep working hard, listen to Kev and Dave and the rewards will be there at the end of the season - lets start another amazing unbeaten run starting next Sunday!!!
| Steve | 07 March 2008 21:43:01 |
Good luck to the mighty 12's on Sunday - c'mon lads!!!

Hope you make a speedy and full recovery.
| Paul | 03 March 2008 09:37:30 |
Kieran, hope you get well soon. We will miss your obscure and 'somewhere out there' type of questions when we all get together before a match and pre-training! Seriously, the team is going to miss you and we need you back as soon as possible. Don't give your Mum too much ear ache while you recover.
| David Fox | 03 March 2008 00:40:27 |
Unlucky u13s, you gave 100% but it wasnt your day. Keep your heads up, work hard in training and give 100% again next match. The next win is just around the corner.
| Steve and George | 02 March 2008 21:45:42 |
Get well soon Kieran - it looked a nasty injury and takes a lot to put you on the ground. We need you back fit again but in the meantime take it easy and we look forward to your comeback soon. Best wishes matey.
| George H | 02 March 2008 20:35:51 |

| Message to all our under 13's | 28 February 2008 18:33:50 |
As discussed at training on Saturday, don't forget to give some thought to our vote this weekend before training this week; as always, we'll do whatever the team decide.
| David Fox | 26 February 2008 22:17:40 |
Col - Ljungberg's wife does not play rugby. You're just making these up now. Mind you after the way you cheat on a Thursday I shouldn't be surprised!
| colin | 26 February 2008 10:04:59 |
The answer is Freddie Lyungberg wifes plays rugby for Sweden.
| Steve | 24 February 2008 19:14:35 |
Well done to the 12's on their superb win this morning. Enjoy your weekend off.
| David Fox | 24 February 2008 15:31:12 |
Well played u12s - a great win against a tough team. 3 great goals, a clean sheet and 3 points! Enjoy your week off - youhave earned it.
| steve | 23 February 2008 20:10:41 |
Next week newsletter exclusive - we picture one of the 12's supposedly FIFA regulated pumped up balls. Judge for yourself.
| David Fox | 23 February 2008 16:01:49 |
Contrary to Mr Hill's slanderous comments in the Newsletter I do not "google" the answers to the questions every time. Most I get without the need to.
| David Fox | 22 February 2008 19:34:01 |
Col - I am giving up on the Prem player's wife. I'll offer the prize to anyone who gets the correct answer
| Robert Cole | 20 February 2008 19:38:18 |
Dave - what record did West Ham break when they were relegated in 2003?
| colin | 20 February 2008 17:08:25 |
Dave | |
| colin | 20 February 2008 16:55:08 |
sorry about the question with no answer i was mis informed about the answer.
| David Fox | 20 February 2008 13:54:00 |
Col - I know this one as I was actually a reserve ball boy at the last final!! I was 9 at the time. The answer is 1974. The FA Trophy and FA Vase competitions replaced it.
| Claude Makelele | 20 February 2008 13:49:31 |
Bonjour, Monsieur Fox est correct. Je wasn't up to the job in 1998 mais I am now enjoying playing pour le Chelski. All of us Bleus recognise what an outstanding football knowledge David has. At training we refer to any one who is intelligent as playing the "Fox role". John terry and Lamps have not quite managed to perfect that un yet. Au Revoir et bon chance for the rest of le saison. Claude
| David Fox | 20 February 2008 13:46:09 |
Col - the correct answer was actually - NO ONE!!
| Colin | 20 February 2008 13:41:55 |

| Colin | 20 February 2008 12:24:21 |
Well done mate correct.
| David Fox | 20 February 2008 11:24:38 |
Col - without looking the answer up I have come up with Claude Makelele. I believe he was in the France 98 World Cup & 2000 European Championships squads, won the European Cup with Real Madrid and has won the 3 domestic trophies with Chelsea.
| Colin | 20 February 2008 10:05:03 |
I have one for you Footy Fox.
| David Fox | 19 February 2008 21:18:27 |
Kieran - easy ones mate!! Julien was born August 1st 1983 in Le Havre, same day as Brett though a few years before.
| David Fox | 19 February 2008 21:14:32 |
Billy - come on let's have a difficult one. 1970, Old Trafford Chelsea beat Leeds 2-1 after a 2-2 draw at Wembley on the previous saturday. Wembley was like a swamp. Dave Webb headed the winner from a Ian Hutchinson long throw. I didnt even have to look this one up - it was the first cup final I ever watched and I have seen every one since, though a few from the early 80s are a bit of a drunken blur!!
| Kieran O'shea | 19 February 2008 19:10:56 |
Another one for Dave: | |
| Kieran | 19 February 2008 18:57:19 |
Try and get this one Dave:
| Billy | 19 February 2008 13:46:34 |
Dave, Quiz question for you. In all the years that the FA Cup final has been held at Wembley, when was the only time the cup was actually won somewhere else?
| sean berry [scholsy] | 18 February 2008 20:10:07 |
it maybe a draw at the end of the the day but we can still win the league come on boys!
| Message to all our under 13's | 18 February 2008 16:48:33 |
Ok we only drew yesterday but have a look at the table and ask yourself "Which Team in our Division would you like to changes places with?"
| Steve | 18 February 2008 16:38:58 |
Harry - how big are your quavers? Must be a multipack?
| David Fox | 17 February 2008 22:13:07 |
u13s - unlucky today but keep your heads up. This is where you need to work even harder, listen to Steve and Paul and carry on giving 100%. Your parents, families and friends are all behind you and know you have what it takes to win the title. Now you start to believe it and play like we all know you can. The points will keep coming.
| Steve | 17 February 2008 17:19:00 |
Challenge for our defence - we gave away three goals today, so how about making up for it with three clean sheets in our next three games?
| David Fox | 17 February 2008 12:49:29 |
Steve - the team do get their stamina from Kev's training. My "briefing" at the end is what motivates the team to play well. It's simple, win or I'll drone on for 20 minutes at the end of training!!! I appreciate your methods are different - no way could you hold anyone's attention for more than 5 seconds!! Up the Gateway!!!!
| Steve | 17 February 2008 11:01:32 |
Good luck to the under 13's today.
| Under 13's camp to Under 12's | 17 February 2008 11:00:00 |
12's, it was only yesterday that we realised how well you have really done week in week out for the last few seasons. Your stamina obviously comes from having to listen to Mr Fox and his verbal marathons after training. We waited about an hour for our snazzy new TGFC kit bags while he bored you all to sleep. What did he have to talk about? You didn't have a game on Sunday, perhaps he was enlightening you on the current World economic downturn, the middle east crisis, the latest on the US Presidential elections? Who knows?! We thought he would take the hint with the slow handclap and the chants of "Is that all you've got to say?" but no. All the time we thought it was Kevin's training but clearly your stamina comes from Dave's chin wags - rather you than us.......Up the Gateway!!!
| Harry | 16 February 2008 22:53:30 |
A big thankyou to Dave and Steve for my club bag, i now have somewhere to put my quavers !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

| Steve | 28 January 2008 07:38:50 |
Just a quick post to say how well the 12's are doing this season. The Champions have gone up to the Pemier and are challenging for the title. Many Teams 2-0 down away to Stanford would have given up, not us, to battle back and earn a point is magnificent. Cup semi finalists and Premier title contenders in their first season - fantastic! Well played lads!
| Steve | 27 January 2008 19:51:56 |
Sean D - we hope today's win made you feel better, get well soon from everyone at the Club.

| Dave H & CJ | 27 January 2008 18:22:47 |
What a great game today. Very tough. Great result, although we believe another 5 minutes and we would have clinched it. Anyway, not bad against a team with 20 coaches! :-)
| sean berry | 26 January 2008 18:44:58 |
my birthday next friday cant wait lets beat corringham tommorow then it will be 10 out of 10 wins
| Steve | 25 January 2008 23:05:05 |
David - yeah thanks for that. It gets worse, I bumped into a familiar face while walking round Lakeside (awaiting for my rescue) an unnamed under 13's player who was out with his mates. Despite my attempts to say hello, I obviously was not cool enough and was promptly blanked and waved away.
| David Fox | 25 January 2008 22:33:54 |

Great result for the u13s today in difficult windy conditions. The team looked a little rusty after the extended lay off but nine wins from nine games tells its own story.
| Steve | 20 January 2008 20:38:34 |
Well played the 13's today - nine wins from nine is a fantastic achievement. We were a little off form today because of the conditions and the fact that this was our first game in six weeks but the sign of a good team is to win even when not playing at your best and that's what we did today. Gateway on three..........GATEWAY!!!
| David Fox | 18 January 2008 22:55:28 |
Good luck to both teams on Sunday. You are both playing some great football so keep it up and let's go for the win!

Well said Graham. The big fella works his sock off for the boys and the club but prefers to keep quiet about it. He has done so much again this season, not just with Paul on the coaching side but also on organising new kit/equipment, games and of course the superb Newsletter every week.
| Graham Cole | 18 December 2007 00:00:00 |
After reading the latest newsletter, everyone has quite rightly been congratulated on what a great season both teams are having - except one person, Steve, so I would like to say a big
