22 Mar 2008 - RESULT - u12s win through to Pennant Quarter Final

PEGASUS  0-2  THAMES GATEWAY

The u12s faced old friends Pegasus for the second time in six days, this time in the Pennant Competition.  Despite the cold and strong wind the boys put in a terrific performance to win 2-0 and take the three points required to secure our Quarter Final place.

With the wind more or less behind us first half it was difficult for Pegasus to clear the ball but yet again their keeper played well, and supported by a good defence they kept us at bay for most of the first half.  But after 24 minutes a fierce shot from Mole was parried by the keeper and Chulakasevee showed determination to get the the loose ball first and stab it home.

Some good wing play down the left between Taylor and Pearce forced several corners but we were unable to get the second.

After the break we continued to attack, Keiller providing some great service to our front players.  A corner after 45 minutes was partially cleared at the near post but Fox made a great tackle and played a short pass back to Mole.  The cross was perfect and there was Chulakasevee to head past the keeper for his, and our, second goal.

Pegasus applied some late pressure but C Harris was strong and mopped up several breaks.

A great performance that secures qualification to the Quarter Final.  Well played and Happy Easter everyone!
