THAMES GATEWAY  2-2 ESSEX COMETS

On a blisteringly hot day at Lakeside Thames suffered a bit of a cup final hang over.  From the start we just didn't seem to be able to get going despite dominating possession.  Comets defended well and then surprised us not once, but twice, taking their chances well to gain a 2-0 lead.

A few changes made the difference and a long free kick was chased down by Mole and finished off by Chulakasevee.  2-1 down at half time the boys were keen to get back on but the heat sapped the strength and Comets held their lead well.

That was until a thunderbolt from Mole went in off the post to equalise.  B Harris came close with a great strike but time ran out and the game ended 2-2.

Our thanks to Comets for agreeing to re-schedule the match to a Saturday, that enabled us to get our remaining league fixtures in.  My thanks also to Comets coach Peter for his assistance with one of our heat injuries.  Very sporting and very much appreciated.
