u13s through to League Cup second round

The u13s put in a superb performance to overcome old friends and Cup rivals Stanford Wanderers.

In yet another epic encounter the boys from both teams played some great passing football and served up another Cup Classic.

Thames Gateway opened the scoring with Kews but were pegged back by a Stanford equaliser.  But before half time Harry and Bradley took chances to extend our lead to 3-1.

Stanford pulled one back just after the break and had periods of the second half where they dominated.  James pulled off a couple of good saves, Stanford also hit the post.  But Thames had their chances as well and finished slightly stronger.

A great match in very difficult conditions.  Well done to both teams and we wish Stanford well for the rest of the season.

U14s week off - Cup draw now known

The u14s had the week off as they were given a bye in the Cup.  We now know we will face LTD Cougars in Round 2.

The boys are back in action this weekend in a friendly away to Ockendon Rhinos.  Steve will confirm the details at training.

Matthew wins again!!

U13s star Matthew won the Quiz prize again, beating James who did get a prize for getting all the answers correct.

Yet again the u14s did not show.  We think Steve's training methods are leaving them too tired to answer the Quiz questions.

The dancing banana is provided to show what Matthew is like on a Saturday afternoon after eating all the sweets he has won!

NEW KITS

The order has gone in for the new kits and we will be seeing a return to the famous red and black stripes before long.

There is a lot of priniting and embroidery to be completed so we expect the kits to be available late October.  Trust us, they will be worth the wait!

Parents Meeting

The meeting is confirmed for Sunday 19th october at lakeside.  Please make every effort to attend as we will be covering important items such as Club plans for the season, including the end of season tour.

If you cannot make it please advise David or Steve asap.

U13s are away that day.  We appreciate the additional travelling attending the meeting will involve and thank you in advance for your support and co-operation.
